Soviet model train layout
The layout represents a small station somewhere to the north of St. Petersburg (Leningrad) in the Karelian forests. The size of the layout is only 1.5m * 1.0m. On the left side the main tracks disappears into the tunnel under a road. Behind it the locomotive yard is located. Locals are drinking beer at the train tracks. Behind the tracks the forest starts. An old asphalt rural road. Locomotive storage yard to the right, to the left box bars are being unloaded. A VL10u (Vladimir Lenin, 10th modification) electric dual section locomotive even nowadays forms the backbone of goods transporters through the entire post soviet space.
